mindwrap Releases Optix® Version 6

New release enhances web-based document management capabilities with support for the J2EE environment, Java document and annotation viewing applets, and XML indexing, search, and retrieval

Flint Hill, VA, May 1, 2001 – mindwrap announced the release of version 6 of their Optix Document Management and Workflow System. The new version enhances existing web capabilities with the addition of XML indexing, search, and retrieval; support for the industry standard J2EE Environment; and new Java document and annotation viewing applets.

Delivered as a fully-functional and highly integrated solution, Optix is typically much faster to deploy than complicated "toolkits" that require extensive and costly development. Installation and training times are usually measured in days instead of months. Optix empowers system administrators and end users with a rich set of easy-to-use tools to quickly create and deploy create new applications.

Targeted specifically for clients involved in deploying web-based applications, the new Optix release is delivered as a complete solution with a fully-functional document repository and workflow interface that plugs into any existing J2EE environment.

The new XML indexing and search engine supports the indexing, search, and retrieval of pure XML content and B2B transactions, allowing Optix to be implemented as the repository in any B2B solution. The engine supports full content searching and searches on XML tags, maintaining all tag hierarchial relationships. This new XML engine joins the existing NLS full-text search and standard SQL indexing methods in Optix, supporting the widest variety of content and document searching options.
